SUMMARY:EMHR’s North Branch Sojourn
DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				July 23-26\, 2026 \nTake an epic four-day river adventure down the Susquehanna River’s North Branch with the Endless Mountains Heritage Region and help us celebrate America250! Our four-day North Branch Sojourn planned for July 23-26\, in partnership with Endless Mountains Outfitters and Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals\, is packed with live entertainment\, historical landmarks along the route\, and educational programming. This year’s route will begin at the French Azilum Historic Site in Bradford County and go to Plains Township in Luzerne County for a total of 68 river miles. Those who register for the North Branch Sojourn will receive a free event T-shirt.Endless Mountains Campground located in Laceyville will be the host for camping for those who would like to camp the evening before the event on Wednesday\, July 22. The address for Endless Mountains Campground is 255 Catfish Ln\, Laceyville\, PA 18623. Those planning to arrive in the morning to register are asked to be at the campground for registration no later than 7:45 a.m. Those not planning to attend the entire trip are asked to check in with staff about where to meet and what time on the scheduled day of their arrival.    \nRiver miles for each day:Thursday – 18.9Friday – 19.1Saturday – 15.2Sunday – 15.2 \nCamping will also take place at EMC Thursday evening after the first day’s paddle. Thursday evening’s festivities will be filled with a presentation by Endless Mountains Primitive Outdoorsmen\, followed by dinner and live entertainment by Joan Degaramo. A dinner of pulled pork\, mac and cheese and coleslaw will be catered by Meat Hook BBQ. \nParticipants will drive their vehicle to the next campsite in the morning to ensure their vehicle is waiting for them when we get off the water at the end of each day’s trip. Each morning\, they will be shuttled back up to the starting point for that day’s river miles. \nThe second evening of the trip\, Eaton Township will host tent camping at their property at the end of North Eaton Road just outside of Tunkhannock. This evening will welcome Wyoming County Historical Society\, who will present about local history and Native American culture. Dinner will be catered by Pompei’s in Tunkhannock and will be spaghetti with side salad and garlic bread. \nThe final evening’s campsite will be located at Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals in Falls Township. Tunkhannock’s Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will speak about local ties to past historical events. Dinner will be catered by owner of SKCR\, Art Coolbaugh\, who will do a spread of chicken cheesesteak burritos\, Mexican street corn\, and more. \nAll meals are provided in the cost to attend this event. Camping is optional to participants\, and those who wish may make their own local accommodations along the route. SUMMARY:EMHR’s Youth Heritage Sojourn
DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				June 18-20\, 2026 \nCalling all students in grades 6-12! The Endless Mountains Heritage Region is partneringagain with Endless Mountains Outfitters for our annual Youth Heritage Sojourn! The eventwill run from Thursday\, June 18\, to Saturday\, June 20\, 2026. Led by EMO owner andTowanda Area School District teacher Keith Brown\, this three-day adventure is a fun-fillededucational experience for students wishing to learn about kayaking safety and localhistory\, all while making new friends and enjoying the outdoors! \nParticipants should meet at Endless Mountains Outfitters (7474 PA-187\, Sugar Run\, PA18846) at 8 a.m. on Thursday\, June 18. From there\, they will begin their 32-mile adventureover the three-day\, two-night period from EMO to Tunkhannock. Students will stay at CampLackawanna\, located at 1219 Vosburg Road\, Tunkhannock PA for both evenings. A detailedpacking list will be provided through email to participants before the event.The $200 cost for this trip will provide students with a 3-day kayak rental\, two breakfasts\,two lunches\, two dinners\, lodging at Camp Lackawanna\, educational programming\,insurance and shuttling\, not to mention a memorable and educational summer event withthe opportunity to meet new friends! SUMMARY:EMHR’s Small Business Support Hikes: Loyalsock State Forest
DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				June 6 and 7\, 2026 \nEndless Mountains Heritage Region’s first overnight hiking event will be Saturday andSunday\, June 6 and 7\, at Loyalsock State Forest in Sullivan County. The event will begin at11 a.m. on Saturday\, June 6. Registration will take place at CCC Jakersville Camp\, whichcan be found using coordinates: 41.461592 N\, 76.507701 W (off Rock Run Road\, nearLaPorte). The first day’s hike will be about 9 miles total\, combining the Loyalsock Trail andthe Haystacks area of the Loyalsock State Forest. We will venture out with about 4 hours ofhiking\, with a couple of stops to see Dutchmen Falls and the Haystacks along the way. \nDinner will be catered by Big Mike’s in Forksville. We will also hear a presentation about thelocal history of the railroad grade that follows the Loyalsock Trail section of our route fromlocal historian and EMHR’s board member Gavin Sigfreid and see recent improvements onthe CCC Camp stove made by Loyalsock State Forest officials through EMHR’s MasonryWorkshop in April! \nSunday’s hike will be the choice of participants\, either on the East Branch Trail\, an easierroute in World’s End State Park\, which is about 2.8 miles out and back and will take aboutan hour or so to complete. The second option is a route near Sone’s Pond created byProgram Development Associate Rachel Flad\, who mapped out about 3 miles in a loop. Thecost for this event will be $15. SUMMARY:Hike the D&H Rail Trail with EMHR and the Rail Trail Council of NEPA
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Come join Endless Mountains Heritage Region as we make our way to Susquehanna County to experience the D&H Rail Trail! This overnight two-day hike will begin at the Thompson trail head on Saturday\, August 16\, at 11 a.m. to check-in. We ask you please park near Twin Ponds on Perry Road (41.857054\, -75.538511) in Thompson. \nThe first day of this hiking adventure will begin after registration and will be approximately 9 miles on a flat route\, led by a member of the Rail Trail Council. We will walk north to Buck Falls\, stop for a late lunch/break\, and return back to the Thompson trailhead. Please pack your own lunch/snacks for the trail. \nOvernight accommodations can be found at Olivia House (126 Rockwell Rd\, Susquehanna\, PA 18847). Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent\, sleeping bag\, etc. The evening will be filled with games\, food\, campfire and fellowship. Dinner will be provided by a local restaurant and will be served at approximately 6 p.m. \nOn Sunday\, we will depart from the Luciana Park in Lanesboro and travel South to Brandt Gorge by 8:30 a.m.\, again led by the Rail Trail Council on an easy and somewhat flat route. This hike will be about 5 miles. Please plan accordingly for lunch or snacks again this day. \nThe cost to attend this event is $10\, which will help support a local restaurant in Susquehanna County. \n			\n				Register Now

SUMMARY:Small Business Support Hikes: Mt. Pisgah
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				** This event that was originally scheduled for April has been postponed until July 26-27\, 2025 ** \n Join Endless Mountains Heritage Region on its first of four Small Business Support Hikes in which we support our local businesses! This two-day hike will be on Saturday\, July 26 and Sunday\, July 27\, 2025\, at Mt. Pisgah County Park (2181 Wilcox Drive\, Troy\, PA 16947) and will lead participants from the county park to the state park on several combined trails throughout each park. Check-in for this event begins at 12 p.m. at the top of the county park (41.8101943\, -76.7164631). \nSaturday’s hiking mileage will be approximately 7 miles\, combining the Ridge Trail (trail that connects the county and state parks) along with smaller trails off the Oh! Susanna Trail. The Ridge Trail is considered moderate. \nHikers have the option of resting after the day hike\, visiting the local area\, or joining us for a night hike as well under the full moon Saturday evening. Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent\, sleeping bag\, flashlights\, etc. \nSunday’s adventure will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the same location\, connecting the Ridge Trail again with the Mill Stream Trail\, which is approximately 6 miles of easy to moderate hiking. \nParticipants will be responsible for lunch or snacks for the trails\, but Saturday’s dinner at approximately 5:30 p.m. will be provided in the cost to help support a local business in the Troy community. SUMMARY:Small Business Support Hikes: Loyalsock State Forest & World’s End State Park
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Join the Endless Mountains Heritage Region in the Small Business Support Hike series and enjoy some scenery in Sullivan County at the Loyalsock State Forest and at World’s End State Park! \nThis two-day hike is Saturday\, June 21\, overnight into Sunday\, June 22. Participants should meet at the Bridle Trailhead along Shanersburg Road (41.43769316\, -76.6064891) for check-in by 11 a.m. to unload their camping gear and prepare for Saturday’s hike. Those traveling afar to attend this event have the option to camp at this location the evening before the event\, if needed.  \nSaturday’s hike will be an estimated 8-mile loop\, incorporating the Loyalsock and Fern Rock Nature Trails\, which is considered a moderate difficulty level for hikers. After returning from the hike on Saturday\, participants can gather around the campfire and hear stories from the Sullivan County Historical Society\, followed by fun games.  \nDinner on Saturday evening will be catered by Big Mike’s in Forksville at approximately 5:30 p.m. Camping reservations have been made by EMHR and Loyalsock State Forest officials for that evening at the Bridle Trailhead camping loop. We are asking for a $10 fee to cover the cost of dinner and camping for this event. Camping is optional and participants are free to make their own overnight lodging accommodations if they choose to do so.  \nHikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have a sufficient supply of water with them for the duration of both days. Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent\, sleeping bag\, etc. Participants will be responsible for lunch or snacks for the trails.  \nSunday’s adventure will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants should meet at the parking area outside of the Worlds End Main office (82 Cabin Bridge Road\, Forksville\, PA 18616) before taking the approximate 4-mile trek of the Canyon Vista Trail\, located in World’s End State Park\, which boasts beautiful scenery. This trail is considered a moderate walk\, mostly for its steep incline at the beginning of the hike and will take about 2.5 hours to complete.  \n			\n				Register Now

DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Bring mom and join Endless Mountains Heritage Region at its second event in the Small Business Support Hike series at Salt Springs State Park! \nThis two-day hike is Saturday\, May 10\, 2025\, overnight into Sunday\, May 11. Participants should meet at Salt Springs State Park’s main park office\, also known as the historic Wheaton House (GPS coordinates: 41.9119\, -75.86553)\, on Saturday by 11 a.m. to sign in. Saturday\, we will travel on the 6-mile Salt Springs State Park Outer Loop Trail (considered difficult)\, and Sunday will be the Salt Springs State Park Loop\, about 3.5 miles. Sunday’s adventure will begin at 8:30 a.m.\, at the Wheaton House. Hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have a sufficient supply of water with them for the duration of both days. Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent\, sleeping bag\, flashlights\, etc. \nAfter returning from the hike on Saturday\, Friends of the Salt Springs State Park will do two presentations with themes of solar energy and gardening\, followed by dinner and fun games. \nParticipants will be responsible for lunch or snacks on the trails\, but dinner Saturday evening at approximately 5:30 p.m. will be provided in the $10 cost\, which will help support a small local business in the Montrose area and camping for this event. \n			\n				Register Now
