SUMMARY:EMHR’s Small Business Support Hikes: Loyalsock State Forest
DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				June 6 and 7\, 2026 \nEndless Mountains Heritage Region’s first overnight hiking event will be Saturday andSunday\, June 6 and 7\, at Loyalsock State Forest in Sullivan County. The event will begin at11 a.m. on Saturday\, June 6. Registration will take place at CCC Jakersville Camp\, whichcan be found using coordinates: 41.461592 N\, 76.507701 W (off Rock Run Road\, nearLaPorte). The first day’s hike will be about 9 miles total\, combining the Loyalsock Trail andthe Haystacks area of the Loyalsock State Forest. We will venture out with about 4 hours ofhiking\, with a couple of stops to see Dutchmen Falls and the Haystacks along the way. \nDinner will be catered by Big Mike’s in Forksville. We will also hear a presentation about thelocal history of the railroad grade that follows the Loyalsock Trail section of our route fromlocal historian and EMHR’s board member Gavin Sigfreid and see recent improvements onthe CCC Camp stove made by Loyalsock State Forest officials through EMHR’s MasonryWorkshop in April! \nSunday’s hike will be the choice of participants\, either on the East Branch Trail\, an easierroute in World’s End State Park\, which is about 2.8 miles out and back and will take aboutan hour or so to complete. The second option is a route near Sone’s Pond created byProgram Development Associate Rachel Flad\, who mapped out about 3 miles in a loop. Thecost for this event will be $15. SUMMARY:EMHR’s Youth Heritage Sojourn

The Endless Mountains Heritage Region is partneringagain with Endless Mountains Outfitters for our annual Youth Heritage Sojourn! The eventwill run from Thursday\, June 18\, to Saturday\, June 20\, 2026. Led by EMO owner andTowanda Area School District teacher Keith Brown\, this three-day adventure is a fun-fillededucational experience for students wishing to learn about kayaking safety and localhistory\, all while making new friends and enjoying the outdoors! \nParticipants should meet at Endless Mountains Outfitters (7474 PA-187\, Sugar Run\, PA18846) at 8 a.m. on Thursday\, June 18. From there\, they will begin their 32-mile adventureover the three-day\, two-night period from EMO to Tunkhannock. Students will stay at CampLackawanna\, located at 1219 Vosburg Road\, Tunkhannock PA for both evenings. A detailedpacking list will be provided through email to participants before the event.The $200 cost for this trip will provide students with a 3-day kayak rental\, two breakfasts\,two lunches\, two dinners\, lodging at Camp Lackawanna\, educational programming\,insurance and shuttling\, not to mention a memorable and educational summer event withthe opportunity to meet new friends! DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				July 23-26\, 2026 \nTake an epic four-day river adventure down the Susquehanna River’s North Branch with theEndless Mountains Heritage Region! We are bringing back our four-day North BranchSojourn on July 23-26\, in partnership with Endless Mountains Outfitters and SusquehannaKayak & Canoe Rentals. This year’s route will begin at the French Azilum Historic Site inBradford County and go to Plains Township in Luzerne County for a total of 68 river miles!Participants are asked to arrive at Endless Mountains Campground (255 Catfish Ln\,Laceyville\, PA 18623) by 8 a.m. on July 23 to sign waivers and check in. \nPaddlers who are traveling a distance have the option to camp overnight at EndlessMountains Campground the evening before on Wednesday\, July 22. \nThe first evening of the sojourn\, participants will camp at Endless Mountains Campgroundin Laceyville\, the second evening\, they will camp at Eaton Township’s property at the end ofNorth Eaton Road\, and the third evening will have camping at Susquehanna Kayak & CanoeRentals in Falls Township. Participants will drive their vehicle to the next campsite eachmorning to ensure their vehicle is waiting for them when we get off the water at the end ofeach day’s trip. Each morning\, they will be shuttled back up to the starting point for thatday’s river miles. \nThose who do not wish to camp also have the option of making local accommodations forthemselves. EMHR has flexible options for partial rentals for this trip\, which can be madethrough registration. EndlessMountains Heritage Region is partnering with Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals andEndless Mountains Outfitters to present an exciting new event opportunity designed just forwomen. Women on the Water is a three-day paddling experience featuring engaging andeducational workshops that inspire participants while highlighting conservation efforts andoutdoor resources. \nCamping accommodations each night will be at Camp Lackawanna\, located at 1219Vosburg-Neck Road\, Tunkhannock\, PA 18657 at Merrill Lodge. There will be shared cabinswith up to 10 bunks available for an extra fee or you can bring your own tent and camp inthe field. Participants also have the option to meet at Camp Lackawanna the eveningbefore the first day’s paddle (Thursday\, July 30) to set up their camp and settle in before anearly start the next morning. Thursday’s welcome activity will feature a night hike withKelley Stewart from Keystone College. Each morning will offer a wake-up yoga class to startyour day with stretches before heading to the Susquehanna River. \nWorkshops to look forward to: Wilderness survival\, herbalism\, essential oils\, foraging\, foodpreservation\, how to plan a trip\, fishing\, a presentation by Daughters of the AmericanRevolution Tunkhannock Chapter\, and more! DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				August 15-16\, 2026 \nPack your bags for Endless Mountains Heritage Region’s second overnight hiking event\, atSalt Springs Park in Susquehanna County on Saturday and Sunday\, August 15 and 16!Participants should meet at Salt Springs State Park’s main park office\, also known as thehistoric Wheaton House (GPS coordinates: 41.9119\, -75.86553)\, on Saturday by 11 a.m. tosign in. Saturday. We will take our time and travel the 6-mile Salt Springs State Park OuterLoop Trail (considered difficult)\, and Sunday’s travels will be the Salt Springs State ParkLoop\, about 3.5 miles and considered a moderate trek. \nHikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have asufficient supply of water with them for the duration of both days. Overnight supplies arealso needed to camp: a tent\, sleeping bag\, flashlights\, etc. Participants will also beresponsible for lunch or snacks on the trail. \nRegistration costs for this event will be $20\, which will cover the cost of dinner and helpsupport Anthony’s Restaurant in Montrose\, along with a donation to Salt Springs Park\,which is managed completely by the Friends of Salt Springs Park and volunteers. SUMMARY:Overnight Hike at Round Top Park in Athens
DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. – Sept. 20 at 12 p.m. \nEndless Mountains Heritage Region closes its overnight hiking events for 2026 at Round Top Park in Athens Township from Saturday\, Sept. 19 to Sunday\, Sept. 20. \nMeet at the top of Round Top Park\, 2555 Round Top Rd\, Athens\, PA 18810 (Pavillion 9\, lower section of park) by 11 a.m. for registration on Saturday and check-in for the event. We will begin hiking promptly at 11:30 and travel throughout the park with a combination of several trails made by Athens Township Parks and Recreation. \nThis is a rare opportunity to in which the EMHR was given special permission to camp at Round Top Park and see the lights of Sayre and Athens area from the incredible scenic overlooks at night! \nWhen returning from the first day’s hike\, participants will enjoy dinner\, provided by a local restaurant in Athens. We will also see a Radio-Controlled Flying Club demonstration from a local group in Athens and hear from Athens Township Parks & Recreation about their plans for Round Top Park in the future. The group will embark on a short morning hike on Sunday\, Sept. 20 before departing. \nRegistration costs for this event will be $15\, which will cover the cost of dinner and help support a local restaurant in the Athens area.
