DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The Endless Mountains Heritage Region’s (EMHR) Summer Paddle in Susquehanna County has been rescheduled for Sunday\, Aug. 24 following high and unsafe water levels in early June. Join the EMHR\, Endless Mountain Outfitters\, and Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals for this single-day\, 12-mile paddle down the Susquehanna River North Branch Water Trail from Oakland Township to Hallstead! \nParticipants should meet and check in at the Phantom Fireworks of Great Bend shopping Plaza (25059 US-11\, Hallstead\, PA 18822) by 9 a.m. Paddlers will then be shuttled to the Oakland Township PA Fish & Boat Commission launch following a welcome and safety briefing. \nWe’ll paddle along the “Great Bend” section of the Susquehanna River’s North Branch\, crossing over the site of the former Oakland Hydroelectric Dam that was removed in the fall of 2023. \nParticipants should bring appropriate clothing and footwear (rain gear as well\, just in case)\, sunscreen\, a sufficient supply of water\, and a dry bag to keep supplies in. This year’s paddle will benefit the Susquehanna County Conservation District\, which will provide educational programming during lunch at the Great Bend PA Fish & Boat Launch. \nThe cost for this event will be $60 to bring your own boat\, $110 to join and rent a single kayak\, or $130 to join and rent a tandem kayak or canoe. SUMMARY:Hike the D&H Rail Trail with EMHR and the Rail Trail Council of NEPA
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Come join Endless Mountains Heritage Region as we make our way to Susquehanna County to experience the D&H Rail Trail! This overnight two-day hike will begin at the Thompson trail head on Saturday\, August 16\, at 11 a.m. to check-in. We ask you please park near Twin Ponds on Perry Road (41.857054\, -75.538511) in Thompson. \nThe first day of this hiking adventure will begin after registration and will be approximately 9 miles on a flat route\, led by a member of the Rail Trail Council. We will walk north to Buck Falls\, stop for a late lunch/break\, and return back to the Thompson trailhead. Please pack your own lunch/snacks for the trail. \nOvernight accommodations can be found at Olivia House (126 Rockwell Rd\, Susquehanna\, PA 18847). Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent\, sleeping bag\, etc. The evening will be filled with games\, food\, campfire and fellowship. Dinner will be provided by a local restaurant and will be served at approximately 6 p.m. \nOn Sunday\, we will depart from the Luciana Park in Lanesboro and travel South to Brandt Gorge by 8:30 a.m.\, again led by the Rail Trail Council on an easy and somewhat flat route. This hike will be about 5 miles. SUMMARY:Hungry for Adventure Sojourn with CHOP Out Hunger
DESCRIPTION:Sponsor Event\n			\n				Register\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR) and CHOP Out Hunger are teaming up to host the “Hungry for Adventure Sojourn\,” a two-day river trip from Laceyville to Tunkhannock for youth in grades 6-12. This two-day river journey will be held on Aug. 8 and 9\, 2025. \nMultiple students have already been selected from the CHOP program to join the sojourn through an essay contest\, but we are now accepting participants to join the two-day sojourn at a fee of just $125. This fee includes the guided trip\, a two-day kayak rental\, paddle\, life jacket\, shuttling\, lodging at Camp Lackawanna\, all meals and snacks\, educational programming\, and fun activities! \nThose who participate in the Hungry for Adventure Sojourn should meet at Endless Mountain Outfitters (7474 PA-187\, Sugar Run\, PA 18846) by 8:30 a.m. the morning of Aug. 8 for check-in. Following a welcome and safety briefing\, students will be shuttled to Laceyville\, where they will begin their paddle to Riverside Park in Tunkhannock. \nStudents will stay overnight at Camp Lackawanna in Tunkhannock\, chaperoned by our staff and team of river guides\, many of which also serve as teachers. The Hungry for Adventure Sojourn will not only educate students about kayaking and paddling safety\, but we’ll also be incorporating guest speakers who will teach them about environmental stewardship and the history and ecology of the Susquehanna River. DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Interested in a multi-day adventure along the Susquehanna River North Branch? Join Endless Mountains Heritage Region for their annual North Branch Sojourn from July 31 through August 3\, 2025. This year’s event begins in Owego\, N.Y.\, and will end in Sugar Run\, P.A.\, for a total of over 60 river miles! This event will be jam packed with paddling\, entertainment\, great food from local businesses\, educational programming and more!   \nParticipants are asked to arrive at Riverfront Park in Sayre (100 Riverfront Park Rd\, Sayre\, PA 18840) by 8 a.m. on July 31 to sign waivers and check in. Paddlers coming from afar also have the option of arriving the evening of July 30 to camp overnight at the park. Following a safety briefing\, we’ll launch on the river to begin the multi-day sojourn. \nNot able to join us for the full four-days? No problem! You can select the days that best work for your schedule and kayak/canoe rental arrangements can be made through registration. There are also nearby lodging options for those who do not wish to camp. Participants will drive their vehicles to the next campsite each morning to ensure their vehicle is waiting for them when we get off the water at the end of each day’s trip. We have single-day\, two-day\, and full four-day packages available to better suit your schedule!  \nWednesday\, July 30: Optional evening to camp at Riverfront Park in Sayre. DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				** This event that was originally scheduled for April has been postponed until July 26-27\, 2025 ** \n Join Endless Mountains Heritage Region on its first of four Small Business Support Hikes in which we support our local businesses! This two-day hike will be on Saturday\, July 26 and Sunday\, July 27\, 2025\, at Mt. Pisgah County Park (2181 Wilcox Drive\, Troy\, PA 16947) and will lead participants from the county park to the state park on several combined trails throughout each park. Check-in for this event begins at 12 p.m. at the top of the county park (41.8101943\, -76.7164631). \nSaturday’s hiking mileage will be approximately 7 miles\, combining the Ridge Trail (trail that connects the county and state parks) along with smaller trails off the Oh! Susanna Trail. The Ridge Trail is considered moderate. \nHikers have the option of resting after the day hike\, visiting the local area\, or joining us for a night hike as well under the full moon Saturday evening. Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent\, sleeping bag\, flashlights\, etc. \nSunday’s adventure will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the same location\, connecting the Ridge Trail again with the Mill Stream Trail\, which is approximately 6 miles of easy to moderate hiking. \nParticipants will be responsible for lunch or snacks for the trails\, but Saturday’s dinner at approximately 5:30 p.m. will be provided in the cost to help support a local business in the Troy community. EMHR is again partnering with Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals on July 12\, 2025\, for a 12-mile paddle trip down the Susquehanna from Tunkhannock to Falls Township.   \nParticipants are asked to bring appropriate footwear\, clothing\, a lunch and/or snacks\, sunscreen and enough water. We will meet at Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals\, located at 119 Krafty Rd.\, Falls\, PA 18615 by 8 a.m. for registration. Following the welcome and safety briefing\, the shuttle will take participants to Riverside Park in Tunkhannock where we will launch down river by 10 a.m.  \nThe paddle portion of this event will end back at Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals at about 4 p.m.\, with dinner prepared by Art Coolbaugh and family\, along with live music from Bobby Scott.   \nCountryside Conservancy’s Bill Kern will be the guest speaker at this event\, who will share information and updates. Led by EMO owner and Towanda Area School District teacher Keith Brown\, this three-day adventure on July 10-12\, 2025\, is a fun-filled educational experience for students wishing to learn about kayaking safety and local history\, all while making new friends and enjoying what the Susquehanna River has to offer! \nParticipants should meet at Endless Mountains Outfitters (7474 PA-187\, Sugar Run\, PA 18846) at 8 a.m. on Thursday\, July 10. From there\, they will be shuttled to Laceyville where they will begin their 33.5-mile adventure over the three-day\, two-night period. SUMMARY:Small Business Support Hikes: Loyalsock State Forest & World’s End State Park
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Join the Endless Mountains Heritage Region in the Small Business Support Hike series and enjoy some scenery in Sullivan County at the Loyalsock State Forest and at World’s End State Park! \nThis two-day hike is Saturday\, June 21\, overnight into Sunday\, June 22. Participants should meet at the Bridle Trailhead along Shanersburg Road (41.43769316\, -76.6064891) for check-in by 11 a.m. to unload their camping gear and prepare for Saturday’s hike. Those traveling afar to attend this event have the option to camp at this location the evening before the event\, if needed.  \nSaturday’s hike will be an estimated 8-mile loop\, incorporating the Loyalsock and Fern Rock Nature Trails\, which is considered a moderate difficulty level for hikers. After returning from the hike on Saturday\, participants can gather around the campfire and hear stories from the Sullivan County Historical Society\, followed by fun games.  \nDinner on Saturday evening will be catered by Big Mike’s in Forksville at approximately 5:30 p.m. Camping reservations have been made by EMHR and Loyalsock State Forest officials for that evening at the Bridle Trailhead camping loop. We are asking for a $10 fee to cover the cost of dinner and camping for this event. Camping is optional and participants are free to make their own overnight lodging accommodations if they choose to do so.  \nHikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have a sufficient supply of water with them for the duration of both days. Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent\, sleeping bag\, etc. Participants will be responsible for lunch or snacks for the trails.  \nSunday’s adventure will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants should meet at the parking area outside of the Worlds End Main office (82 Cabin Bridge Road\, Forksville\, PA 18616) before taking the approximate 4-mile trek of the Canyon Vista Trail\, located in World’s End State Park\, which boasts beautiful scenery. Saturday\, we will travel on the 6-mile Salt Springs State Park Outer Loop Trail (considered difficult)\, and Sunday will be the Salt Springs State Park Loop\, about 3.5 miles. Sunday’s adventure will begin at 8:30 a.m.\, at the Wheaton House. Hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have a sufficient supply of water with them for the duration of both days. DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Join the Endless Mountains Heritage Region and DCNR for a refreshing winter hike at our region’s newest state park\, the Vosburg State Park in Tunkhannock\, on Saturday\, Jan. 18! Participants should meet at the park entrance at 470 Vosburg Rd\, Tunkhannock\, PA 18657 at 1 p.m. for check-in. \nWe will combine the River\, Eagle and Canal Trails along with Vosburg Road for an approximate 4 mile hike. The different landscapes participants will see will be woodland\, the Susquehanna River\, and farmland. Pisgah State Park outside of Troy\, with a full moon-themed evening. \nWe will first gather at Building No. 9 Grill (16 Elmira St\, Troy\, PA) at 5 p.m. for dinner (paid individually) to support a local small business in the community. \nAfter dinner\, participants will meet at the Nature Center at Mt. Pisgah State Park (41.807336\, -76.667291) at 7 p.m. \nParticipants can look at the moon through a telescope and join a guest educator from Cherry Springs State Park in viewing lunar natural features and discovering where moon landings took place among them. After a brief presentation on the size and scale of the moon\, embark on an amazing telescope tour of the moon’s surface.  In the event of cloud-cover\, we will offer a presentation on moon phases\, moon formation\, and moon landings. \nFollowing the program will be a short 2.5 mile night walk on the Park’s “Oh! Susannah Trail” loop\, which will take about an hour and a half to complete. Elevation gain for this loop is about 173 feet. SUMMARY:Small Business Support Hikes: Historic Barclay Mountain
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Join the Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR) on its first event in the Small Business Support Hike series on historic Barclay Mountain just outside of LeRoy Township in Bradford County! \nThis short family-friendly hike is Sunday\, Nov. 3\, on Mountain Road\, about four miles east from Sunfish Pond County Park. Participants should meet at coordinates 41.656306\, -76.626139 at 11 a.m. This will be about a 2-hour hiking loop near Barclay’s Pioneer Cemetery and is for hikers of all experience levels. The trail is a designated hunting trail with scenery of hills\, forest\, and field. Hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) as well as a sufficient supply of water with them. \nFollowing the hike\, participants will convoy to Bradford County’s Sunfish Pond for lunch provided by The Park Hotel of Canton. Following lunch\, Matt Carl of the LeRoy Heritage Museum\, will discuss the history of the town of Barclay in an interactive walking tour around the pond. After the educational program\, Carl invites participants to check out the LeRoy Heritage Museum for a special visit after normal hours. \nTo support this small local business\, Canton’s Park Hotel\, we are asking for a $10 fee to cover the cost of lunch for this event. SUMMARY:Annual Fall Heritage Benefit Paddle 2024
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR) and Endless Mountain Outfitters (EMO) will take participants on a 11-mile river paddle on October 5\, 2024\, from the Bradford County Outboard Motor Club back to EMO in Sugar Run. Paddlers should arrive at EMO by 8 a.m. to check-in and sign waivers. Following a welcome and safety briefing\, participants\, their kayaks/canoes\, and gear will be shuttled to the Bradford County Outboard Motor Club\, then launch downriver. During lunch on the river at the Homets Ferry launch\, paddlers will receive a presentation about historic sites along the route\, such as Standing Stone\, the Wyalusing Rocks\, and Homets Ferry. The paddle will lead back to EMO where a hard cider tasting with Deep Roots Hard Cider and a catered dinner will be held\, along with live entertainment from The Sorters Acoustic Trio. This event will benefit the Bradford County Conservation District. During dinner\, Dan Rhodes of the Bradford County Conservation District will speak about the organization\, projects they have underway\, and services they offer. Registration is $60 for those bringing their own watercraft. It will be an additional $50 for those renting a single kayak or an additional $70 if renting a tandem kayak/canoe. The registration fee includes your donation to the Bradford County Conservation District\, insurance\, the dinner\, tasting\, and educational programming.
