DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				 2026 Annual MeetingWednesday\, Oct. 14th 2026 \nThe Endless Mountains Heritage Region will be holding its 2026 Annual Meeting on Wednesday\, Oct. 14 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Montrose Bible Conference located in Susquehanna County at 218 Locust St\, Montrose\, PA 18801. On behalf of the EMHR Board of Directors\, we’d like to invite you to hear about the EMHR’s exciting year-in-review as well as hear about new programming like the Destination Freedom: Underground Railroad Walking Tours we have brough to the region in partnership with the Waverly Community House. The EMHR and its many heritage partners are working together to enhance our four-county region through historic preservation\, outdoor recreation development\, educational programming\, managing the Susquehanna River Upper North Branch Water Trail\, and more! \nFollowing a short business meeting in which board members and a slate of officers will be named and voted upon by our Board of Directors as well as paid EMHR members\, we will hear from Executive Director Cain Chamberlin and an array of guest speakers\, including: \n– EMHR’s 2026 Partnership/Mini-Grant recipients \n– Endless Gravel PA and the Endless Mountains Grand Depart with David Landis of Village to Village Trails \n– EJ Murphy\, program director for Destination Freedom: Underground Railroad Walking Tours at the Waverly Community House \nA lunch prepared by the Montrose Bible Conference will be served before noon at the conclusion of the meeting.  \n			\n				Register

SUMMARY:Destination Freedom Underground Railroad Tour Montrose October 2026
DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Saturday\, October 17 at 10 AM \nThe Endless Mountains Heritage Region has officially partnered with the Waverly Community House of Waverly\, PA to bring its Destination Freedom: Underground Railroad Walking Tours to the counties of Bradford\, Sullivan\, Susquehanna\, and Wyoming counties. \nThese tours explore the rich history of the Underground Railroad\, the abolitionist movement of the 19th century\, and the African-American community in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Destination Freedom program director\, EJ Murphy\, reached out to the EMHR in early 2025 and asked us to sponsor this expansion to our region. We immediately agreed and brought together various heritage partners like the Bradford County Historical Society\, Sullivan County Historical Society\, Susquehanna County Historical Society\, the Center for Anti-Slavery Studies (CASS) in Montrose\, and the historic Dennis Farm in Kinglsey\, which was founded 1793 by Prince Perkins\, a free African-American from Connecticut and Revolutionary War veteran whose descendants still own the 153-acre farm to this very day. \nWalking tours will begin in the summer of 2026 in Towanda\, Montrose\, Tunkhannock\, and at the Dennis Farm to highlight our region’s connections to the Underground Railroad while driving tours will begin in Sullivan County in the spring of 2027\, taking participants along the historical “Genessee Road”\, a route freedom seekers used to make their way north and escape fugitive slave hunters coming from the southern states. \nThe Waverly Community House and our heritage partners like our historical societies will be hosting the guided tours this summer and there are plenty of opportunities to learn about this fascinating history.  Click the button to register. \nYou can also schedule a group walking tour by making an appointment with the Waverly Community House by calling (570) 586-8191. SUMMARY:EMHR’s Vosburg Neck State Park Night Hike
DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				October 24\, 2026 \nJoin Endless Mountains Heritage Region and Vosburg Neck DCNR officials for another nighthike on Saturday\, October 24! Participants should meet at 470 Vosburg Rd\, Tunkhannock\,PA 18657 by 7:30 p.m. for sign-in and to receive a FREE glowstick! \nVosburg Neck’s DCNR Environmental Education Specialist Amanda Kiernan will lead thegroup on a four-mile hike combining the Canal\, Eagle and River Trails of Vosburg Neck StatePark. The trails are relatively level but will see some uphill and downhill on Vosburg Road.Overall\, the loop will be an easy hike for participants. The different landscapes participantswill see will be woodland\, farmland and the Susquehanna River. Hikers are encouraged tobring a sufficient supply of water for a couple of hours\, and appropriate clothing andfootwear (hiking shoes or boots) for the weather and the evening-time. \nAccording to the Farmer’s Almanac\, October’s full moon is called the Hunter’s Moonbecause it falls closest to the autumnal equinox. Other names for this moon include the“Travel Moon” and the “Dying Grass Moon.” Learn more about other moon-related factsduring the event! \nThis exciting event is free and open to the public\, but we ask that you please register so wecan get a headcount for glowsticks and prepare with enough guides on the trail.Registration for this event closes on Thursday\, Oct. 22. \n			\n				Register
