SUMMARY:EMHR’s Summer Heritage Benefit Paddle
DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				July 11\, 2026 \nGrab your paddle and get ready for Endless Mountains Heritage Region’s annual SummerHeritage Benefit Paddle! This event is on Saturday\, July 11\, with participants meeting atBartolai Winery at 2389 PA-92\, Pittston\, PA 18643 by 8 a.m. Following a welcome and safetybriefing\, we will be shuttled up to Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals in Falls (WyomingCounty). This trip will be an 11-mile paddle down the Susquehanna River from SKCR toBartolai\, with a lunch stop in between. \nDinner will be catered by Art Coolbaugh and will be ready upon arrival at Bartolai\, whereparticipants can also enjoy some local wines. John Marrow of the Scranton area will be themusical entertainment for the evening. \nThis event will benefit Patriot’s Cove in Noxen\, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization innortheastern Pennsylvania and founded by a military veteran and his spouse to empowerother veterans\, first responders\, and their caregivers to heal and adapt to life after service.Throughout their 18-acre refuge\, they provide restorative outdoor activities\, environmentalservice projects\, and educational events and retreats for caregivers. Patriot’s Cove founderJeff Swire will be the guest speaker for the event. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring appropriate clothing and footwear for that day’sweather\, sunscreen\, a sufficient supply of water\, and a dry bag to keep their supplies in.While we will be providing dinner\, please bring snacks or a sacked lunch for our time on theriver\, as we will be stopping for a short break. \nRegistration for those who can bring their own kayak or canoe will be $60. The registrationfee not only covers the guided trip\, but also shuttling\, insurance\, dinner\, entertainment anda donation to Patriot’s Cove. DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				July 23-26\, 2026 \nTake an epic four-day river adventure down the Susquehanna River’s North Branch with theEndless Mountains Heritage Region! We are bringing back our four-day North BranchSojourn on July 23-26\, in partnership with Endless Mountains Outfitters and SusquehannaKayak & Canoe Rentals. This year’s route will begin at the French Azilum Historic Site inBradford County and go to Plains Township in Luzerne County for a total of 68 river miles!Participants are asked to arrive at Endless Mountains Campground (255 Catfish Ln\,Laceyville\, PA 18623) by 8 a.m. on July 23 to sign waivers and check in. \nPaddlers who are traveling a distance have the option to camp overnight at EndlessMountains Campground the evening before on Wednesday\, July 22. \nThe first evening of the sojourn\, participants will camp at Endless Mountains Campgroundin Laceyville\, the second evening\, they will camp at Eaton Township’s property at the end ofNorth Eaton Road\, and the third evening will have camping at Susquehanna Kayak & CanoeRentals in Falls Township. Participants will drive their vehicle to the next campsite eachmorning to ensure their vehicle is waiting for them when we get off the water at the end ofeach day’s trip. Each morning\, they will be shuttled back up to the starting point for thatday’s river miles. \nThose who do not wish to camp also have the option of making local accommodations forthemselves. EMHR has flexible options for partial rentals for this trip\, which can be madethrough registration. SUMMARY:EMHR’s Women on the Water Sojourn
DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				July 31-August 2 \nCalling all women who love exploring new hobbies and spending time outdoors! EndlessMountains Heritage Region is partnering with Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals andEndless Mountains Outfitters to present an exciting new event opportunity designed just forwomen. Women on the Water is a three-day paddling experience featuring engaging andeducational workshops that inspire participants while highlighting conservation efforts andoutdoor resources. \nCamping accommodations each night will be at Camp Lackawanna\, located at 1219Vosburg-Neck Road\, Tunkhannock\, PA 18657 at Merrill Lodge. There will be shared cabinswith up to 10 bunks available for an extra fee or you can bring your own tent and camp inthe field. Participants also have the option to meet at Camp Lackawanna the eveningbefore the first day’s paddle (Thursday\, July 30) to set up their camp and settle in before anearly start the next morning. Thursday’s welcome activity will feature a night hike withKelley Stewart from Keystone College. Each morning will offer a wake-up yoga class to startyour day with stretches before heading to the Susquehanna River. \nWorkshops to look forward to: Wilderness survival\, herbalism\, essential oils\, foraging\, foodpreservation\, how to plan a trip\, fishing\, a presentation by Daughters of the AmericanRevolution Tunkhannock Chapter\, and more! This event will also feature keynote speakersto be announced at a later date. \nThe cost for the event will include guided trip\, insurance\, 3 meals for each days\, workshops throughout the weekend\, a commemorative event T-shirt\, and other take home goodies. DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				August 15-16\, 2026 \nPack your bags for Endless Mountains Heritage Region’s second overnight hiking event\, atSalt Springs Park in Susquehanna County on Saturday and Sunday\, August 15 and 16!Participants should meet at Salt Springs State Park’s main park office\, also known as thehistoric Wheaton House (GPS coordinates: 41.9119\, -75.86553)\, on Saturday by 11 a.m. tosign in. Saturday. We will take our time and travel the 6-mile Salt Springs State Park OuterLoop Trail (considered difficult)\, and Sunday’s travels will be the Salt Springs State ParkLoop\, about 3.5 miles and considered a moderate trek. \nHikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have asufficient supply of water with them for the duration of both days. Overnight supplies arealso needed to camp: a tent\, sleeping bag\, flashlights\, etc. Participants will also beresponsible for lunch or snacks on the trail. \nRegistration costs for this event will be $20\, which will cover the cost of dinner and helpsupport Anthony’s Restaurant in Montrose\, along with a donation to Salt Springs Park\,which is managed completely by the Friends of Salt Springs Park and volunteers. DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. – Sept. 20 at 12 p.m. \nEndless Mountains Heritage Region closes its overnight hiking events for 2026 at Round Top Park in Athens Township from Saturday\, Sept. 19 to Sunday\, Sept. 20. \nMeet at the top of Round Top Park\, 2555 Round Top Rd\, Athens\, PA 18810 (Pavillion 9\, lower section of park) by 11 a.m. for registration on Saturday and check-in for the event. We will begin hiking promptly at 11:30 and travel throughout the park with a combination of several trails made by Athens Township Parks and Recreation. \nThis is a rare opportunity to in which the EMHR was given special permission to camp at Round Top Park and see the lights of Sayre and Athens area from the incredible scenic overlooks at night! \nWhen returning from the first day’s hike\, participants will enjoy dinner\, provided by a local restaurant in Athens. We will also see a Radio-Controlled Flying Club demonstration from a local group in Athens and hear from Athens Township Parks & Recreation about their plans for Round Top Park in the future. The group will embark on a short morning hike on Sunday\, Sept. 20 before departing. \nRegistration costs for this event will be $15\, which will cover the cost of dinner and help support a local restaurant in the Athens area. Pisgah State Park for Endless Mountains HeritageRegion’s night hike on Saturday\, Sept. 26. Participants will meet at the Nature Center at Mt.Pisgah State Park (41.807336\, -76.667291) at 7 p.m. for registration and check in. \nParticipants can look at the moon through a telescope and join a guest educator fromCherry Springs State Park in viewing lunar natural features and discovering where moonlandings took place among them. After a brief presentation on the size and scale of themoon\, embark on an amazing telescope tour of the moon’s surface. In the event of cloud-cover\, we will offer a presentation on moon phases\, moon formation\, and moon landings. \nFollowing the program will be a short 2.5-mile night walk on the Park’s “Oh! Susannah Trail”loop\, which will take about an hour and a half to complete. Elevation gain for this loop isabout 173 feet. Hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes orboots and a coat)\, a flashlight or headlamp\, and a supply of water. \nThis program is free and open to the public\, but we ask that you please register by Thursday\,Sept. 24\, for a head count for the program. \n			\n				Register

Participants are asked to meet at Sayre Riverfront Park (100 Riverfront Park Rd\, SayrePa 18840) by 8 a.m. for registration check-in and to sign waivers. Following the welcomeand safety briefing\, they will be shuttled to the Nichols launch in New York and get on theriver to paddle back to Sayre by mid-afternoon. After the paddle\, participants will caravanover to Bluestone Brewery (18 Pitney St\, South Waverly\, PA 18840) for dinner andentertainment\, which is included in your registration fee. \nThis event will benefit the Sayre Historical Society\, formed in 1989\, to preserve the richhistory of Sayre and the surrounding area. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring appropriate clothing and footwear for that day’sweather\, sunscreen\, a sufficient supply of water\, any snacks desired\, and a dry bag to keeptheir supplies in. \nRegistration costs are $60 for those bringing their own kayak. The registration fee for thisevent includes a donation to the Sayre Historical Society\, insurance\, dinner from BluestoneBrewing\, and educational programming. A Walk in Penns Woods teaches participants how their local woods functionand gives them an understanding and new appreciation for wildlife. The mileage for this hike will be approximately 3 miles. DESCRIPTION:Register\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				October 24\, 2026 \nJoin Endless Mountains Heritage Region and Vosburg Neck DCNR officials for another nighthike on Saturday\, October 24! Participants should meet at 470 Vosburg Rd\, Tunkhannock\,PA 18657 by 7:30 p.m. for sign-in and to receive a FREE glowstick! \nVosburg Neck’s DCNR Environmental Education Specialist Amanda Kiernan will lead thegroup on a four-mile hike combining the Canal\, Eagle and River Trails of Vosburg Neck StatePark. The trails are relatively level but will see some uphill and downhill on Vosburg Road.Overall\, the loop will be an easy hike for participants. The different landscapes participantswill see will be woodland\, farmland and the Susquehanna River. Hikers are encouraged tobring a sufficient supply of water for a couple of hours\, and appropriate clothing andfootwear (hiking shoes or boots) for the weather and the evening-time. \nAccording to the Farmer’s Almanac\, October’s full moon is called the Hunter’s Moonbecause it falls closest to the autumnal equinox. Other names for this moon include the“Travel Moon” and the “Dying Grass Moon.” Learn more about other moon-related factsduring the event! \nThis exciting event is free and open to the public\, but we ask that you please register so wecan get a headcount for glowsticks and prepare with enough guides on the trail.Registration for this event closes on Thursday\, Oct. 22. \n			\n				Register
