SUMMARY:Winter Hiking at Vosburg Neck State Park
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Join the Endless Mountains Heritage Region and DCNR for a refreshing winter hike at our region’s newest state park\, the Vosburg State Park in Tunkhannock\, on Saturday\, Jan. 18! Participants should meet at the park entrance at 470 Vosburg Rd\, Tunkhannock\, PA 18657 at 1 p.m. for check-in. \nWe will combine the River\, Eagle and Canal Trails along with Vosburg Road for an approximate 4 mile hike. The different landscapes participants will see will be woodland\, the Susquehanna River\, and farmland. Hikers should wear appropriate winter clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have a sufficient supply of water with them.  If there is significant snow on the ground\, we recommend participants bring ice cleats and/or snowshoes. During the hike\, participants will hear from DCNR’s Environmental Education Specialist\, Amanda MacTarnaghan\, who will share her knowledge on local wildlife and the tracks they leave around the park. After the hike\, there will be hot chocolate to warm up with. \nThe event is free and open to the public\, we just ask that you please register for this event so that we may get a headcount for the hike and prepare. SUMMARY:EMHR 2025 Annual Grants Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The EMHR will be hosting its annual grant workshop on Friday\, January 31\, 2025\, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Dietrich Theater (60 E Tioga St\, Tunkhannock\, PA 18657). New to this year’s workshop is the additional and optional grant writing class with Linda Falcone of Penn State Extension and Kimberly Jennings of Northern Tier Regional Planning & Development Commission from noon to 1 p.m.\, immediately following the regular workshop. \nGrants pertaining to outdoor recreation\, historic preservation\, community and economic development\, event promotion\, and more will be discussed. There will be speakers from various state and regional agencies and organizations who will speak about various grant opportunities and grant writing assistance available to you\, your organization\, or municipality. A special Q&A session will follow. \nThis year’s speakers include: \n– Christine Dettore\, Northeast Regional Advisor – Dept. of Conservation & Natural Resources– Paul Macknosky\, Regional Director – Dept. of Community & Economic Development– Robyn Cummings\, Executive Director – Bradford County Tourism Promotion Agency– Jean Ruhf\, Executive Director – Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau– Staci Wilson\, Executive Director – Susquehanna County Promotion and Tourism Agency– Karen Arnold\, Keystone Historic Preservation Grant Manager – PA Historical & Museum Commission– April Hannon\, District 4-0 Project Manager\, and Steven Fisher\, District 4-0 Planning Specialist – PennDOT– Kim Jennings\, Community Development Program Manager – Northern Tier Regional Planning & Development Commission– Johanna Hripto – Susquehanna River Basin Commission– Cain Chamberlin\, Executive Director – Endless Mountains Heritage Region \nThis grant workshop is free to the public and will last approximately three hours in the Evans theater room. The optional grant writing class will be an additional hour in the theater’s community room.
