SUMMARY:EMHR’s Cemetery Preservation Workshop #2 at the Bradford County Historical Society
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				You’ve asked\, and we’ve heard you! The Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR) will be putting on another pair of cemetery preservation workshops\, but this time for the entire four-county region! We will have two opportunities for area cemetery associations\, volunteers\, and interested parties to gain insightful knowledge about how to properly preserve our sacred headstones and final resting places. \nThe first workshop will be held at the Metcalf Mansion (50 West Harrison Street\, Tunkhannock\, PA) on Saturday\, March 29 and the second will be at the Bradford County Historical Society (109 Pine St\, Towanda\, PA) on Saturday\, April 5. Each workshop will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lunch and morning refreshments provided. Please arrive between 9:30 and 10 a.m. to check-in. The cost of attending a workshop is $10 per participant. \nWith the help of local historians\, Brian Lione of Lione Heritage Consulting and Hillori Schenker\, founder and advisor for the Historic Preservation Club at the Montrose Area Junior/Senior High School\, we will educate cemetery associations\, municipal cemetery caretakers\, and those who simply have an interest in preserving family headstones on how to keep our regional cemeteries beautiful. \nEach workshop will include learning opportunities on the history of cemeteries\, research resources\, and methods for documentation. Appropriate cleaning techniques will be the focus of the workshop\, and instructors will demonstrate so participants can see techniques up close and ask questions about the approach. Each participant will receive an instruction workbook and a toolkit of supplies (worth over $50) to take home for their own use. \nRegister for either the March 29 or April 5 workshop. These are repeat workshops\, so only choose one that best fits your schedule. \nThese workshops are funded in part by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and provided by the EMHR. \n			\n				Register Now

SUMMARY:Earth Day Hike at Vosburg Neck State Park
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Celebrate Earth Day outdoors with the Endless Mountains Heritage Region by joining us at Vosburg Neck State Park on Saturday\, April 26! Participants should arrive at the state park (470 Vosburg Road\, Tunkhannock\, PA 18657) by 1 p.m. and should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have a sufficient supply of water with them.  \nDuring the hike\, participants will hear from Environmental Education Specialist from DCNR\, Amanda MacTarnaghan\, who will share the history of the Howland Preserve and how DCNR acquired the property\, as well as some updates on the park.   \nThe event is free and open to the public\, however\, we ask that you register for this event so we may get an accurate headcount and prepare for the hike.  \n			\n				Register Now
