The Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR) and Endless Mountain Outfitters (EMO) will take participants on a 11-mile river paddle on October 5, 2024, from the Bradford County Outboard Motor Club back to EMO in Sugar Run. Paddlers should arrive at EMO by 8 a.m. to check-in and sign waivers. Following a welcome and safety briefing, participants, their kayaks/canoes, and gear will be shuttled to the Bradford County Outboard Motor Club, then launch downriver. During lunch on the river at the Homets Ferry launch, paddlers will receive a presentation about historic sites along the route, such as Standing Stone, the Wyalusing Rocks, and Homets Ferry. The paddle will lead back to EMO where a hard cider tasting with Deep Roots Hard Cider and a catered dinner will be held, along with live entertainment from The Sorters Acoustic Trio. This event will benefit the Bradford County Conservation District. During dinner, Dan Rhodes of the Bradford County Conservation District will speak about the organization, projects they have underway, and services they offer. Registration is $60 for those bringing their own watercraft. It will be an additional $50 for those renting a single kayak or an additional $70 if renting a tandem kayak/canoe. The registration fee includes your donation to the Bradford County Conservation District, insurance, the dinner, tasting, and educational programming. Participants are asked to bring appropriate footwear and clothing, a lunch/snacks, sunscreen, and a personal supply of water.
This event is being funded in part by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Bradford County Tourism Promotion Agency Room Tax Fund.
