Join the Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR) on its first event in the Small Business Support Hike series on historic Barclay Mountain just outside of LeRoy Township in Bradford County!
This short family-friendly hike is Sunday, Nov. 3, on Mountain Road, about four miles east from Sunfish Pond County Park. Participants should meet at coordinates 41.656306, -76.626139 at 11 a.m. This will be about a 2-hour hiking loop near Barclay’s Pioneer Cemetery and is for hikers of all experience levels. The trail is a designated hunting trail with scenery of hills, forest, and field. Hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) as well as a sufficient supply of water with them.
Following the hike, participants will convoy to Bradford County’s Sunfish Pond for lunch provided by The Park Hotel of Canton. Following lunch, Matt Carl of the LeRoy Heritage Museum, will discuss the history of the town of Barclay in an interactive walking tour around the pond. After the educational program, Carl invites participants to check out the LeRoy Heritage Museum for a special visit after normal hours.
To support this small local business, Canton’s Park Hotel, we are asking for a $10 fee to cover the cost of lunch for this event. Donations to the Leroy Heritage Museum are also appreciated. Register for the hike at: www.emheritage.org/events.
The LeRoy Heritage Museum is located at 10097 State Route 414, Canton, PA 17724.
