Friday, Nov. 15, join Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR) on their second Small Business Support Hike! This night hike will be at Mt. Pisgah State Park outside of Troy, with a full moon-themed evening.
We will first gather at Building No. 9 Grill (16 Elmira St, Troy, PA) at 5 p.m. for dinner (paid individually) to support a local small business in the community.
After dinner, participants will meet at the Nature Center at Mt. Pisgah State Park (41.807336, -76.667291) at 7 p.m.
Participants can look at the moon through a telescope and join a guest educator from Cherry Springs State Park in viewing lunar natural features and discovering where moon landings took place among them. After a brief presentation on the size and scale of the moon, embark on an amazing telescope tour of the moon’s surface. In the event of cloud-cover, we will offer a presentation on moon phases, moon formation, and moon landings.
Following the program will be a short 2.5 mile night walk on the Park’s “Oh! Susannah Trail” loop, which will take about an hour and a half to complete. Elevation gain for this loop is about 173 feet. Hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots and a coat), a flashlight or headlamp, and a supply of water.
This program is free and open to the public, but we ask that you please register for a head count for the program.
