EMHR’s Masonry Workshops at Loyalsock State Forest

April 11, 2026
Endless Mountains Heritage Region will host two masonry workshops on April 11 and 18 in
Sullivan County. Masonry is a construction technique using brick, stone and mortar. These
specific workshops will focus on restoration of a camp stove at a Civilian Conservation
Camp in the Loyalsock State Forest, known as Jakersville Camp 95, located outside of
Forksville on Rock Run Road (off Rt. 154). There will also be a historical presentation about
the area of the CCC Camp (before and after it became a CCC Camp) by EMHR’s board
member, Gavin Siegfried. Both workshops will take place at the site of the project
(Coordinates: 41.461424745938174, -76.5076430223353) in Loyalsock State Forest and
will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A catered lunch by a Sullivan County business and
refreshments will be provided in the cost for each workshop. It is our hope that these
events will help participants gain useful knowledge on how to properly preserve older
stonework and utilize their skills to restore their own beauty here in the Endless Mountains.
Participants must register before the event cutoff date, April 4.
The cost of attending a workshop is $25/person and is limited to the first 25
people per workshop. We ask that you only sign up for one workshop to give others a
chance to experience the event. These are repeat workshops, so only choose the event
that fits your schedule the best. If there is a small number of registrations, EMHR will only
run the workshop planned for April 11 and contact participants who signed up for the 18th
workshop to move their registration to the 11th or refund them.
