Bring dad along and join the Endless Mountains Heritage Region on its third event in the Small Business Support Hike series and enjoy some scenery in Sullivan County at the Loyalsock State Forest and at World’s End State Park!
This two-day hike is Saturday, June 21, overnight into Sunday, June 22. Participants should meet at the camping location on Rock Run Road, Forksville, PA (41.4610829, -76.5094656) for check-in by 11 a.m. on Saturday. Sunday’s adventure will begin at 8:30 a.m.
Hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) and have a sufficient supply of water with them for the duration of both days. Overnight supplies are also needed to camp: a tent, sleeping bag, etc. Participants will be responsible for lunch or snacks for the trails.
Saturday’s hike will be about 7 miles out and back exploring the Haystacks area of the Loyalsock State Forest, a moderate hiking trail. After returning from the hike on Saturday, participants can gather around the campfire and hear stories from the Sullivan County Historical Society. Fun games will follow into the evening. Dinner on Saturday evening will be included in the cost and catered by a local restaurant at approximately 5:30 p.m.
On Sunday, participants should meet at the campsite by 8:30 a.m. before taking the approximate 4-mile trek of the Canyon Vista Trail, which boasts beautiful scenery. This trail is considered a moderate walk, mostly for its steep incline at the beginning of the hike.
To support this small local business, we are asking for a $10 fee to cover the cost of dinner and camping for this event.
