Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR) has partnered with Endless Mountains Outfitters (EMO) again for its annual Youth Heritage Sojourn for students in grades 6-12! Led by EMO owner and Towanda Area School District teacher Keith Brown, this three-day adventure on July 10-12, 2025, is a fun-filled educational experience for students wishing to learn about kayaking safety and local history, all while making new friends and enjoying what the Susquehanna River has to offer!
Participants should meet at Endless Mountains Outfitters (7474 PA-187, Sugar Run, PA 18846) at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 10. From there, they will be shuttled to Laceyville where they will begin their 33.5-mile adventure over the three-day, two-night period. Students will stay at Camp Lackawanna, located at 1219 Vosburg Road, Tunkhannock PA for both evenings.
The $200 cost for this trip will provide students with a 3-day kayak rental, two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, lodging at Camp Lackawanna, educational programming, insurance and shuttling, not to mention a fun and educational summer event.
Students can be picked up at 12:30 p.m. at the West Falls Boat Launch (41.462273, -75.858034) or back at EMO at the conclusion of the trip on Saturday, July 12.
