EMHR’s Women on the Water Sojourn

July 31-August 2
Calling all women who love exploring new hobbies and spending time outdoors! Endless
Mountains Heritage Region is partnering with Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals and
Endless Mountains Outfitters to present an exciting new event opportunity designed just for
women. Women on the Water is a three-day paddling experience featuring engaging and
educational workshops that inspire participants while highlighting conservation efforts and
outdoor resources.
Camping accommodations each night will be at Camp Lackawanna, located at 1219
Vosburg-Neck Road, Tunkhannock, PA 18657 at Merrill Lodge. There will be shared cabins
with up to 10 bunks available for an extra fee or you can bring your own tent and camp in
the field. Participants also have the option to meet at Camp Lackawanna the evening
before the first day’s paddle (Thursday, July 30) to set up their camp and settle in before an
early start the next morning. Thursday’s welcome activity will feature a night hike with
Kelley Stewart from Keystone College. Each morning will offer a wake-up yoga class to start
your day with stretches before heading to the Susquehanna River.
Workshops to look forward to: Wilderness survival, herbalism, essential oils, foraging, food
preservation, how to plan a trip, fishing, a presentation by Daughters of the American
Revolution Tunkhannock Chapter, and more! This event will also feature keynote speakers
to be announced at a later date.
The $200 total cost for the event will include guided trip, insurance, 3 meals for each days, workshops throughout the weekend, a commemorative event T-shirt, and other take home goodies. Registration is limited and closes on Friday, July 24, so reserve your spot now!
